Empire’s annual Melling Skate Comp took place a couple weekends ago, I shot a roll of black & white film and just got around to scanning it.

Congrats to Brynn on first place in the Opens, taking home $400 cash with D Whatford coming in a close second, and Brad for first place in the under 16s.

Judges on the day: Lucas, Calav and Freddy.

Cam took care of the commentary.

First of all congratulations to Brynn for taking yesterday’s Drop Deep Skate Comp in three sections – 1st place U16′s, Best Trick and Overall Skater of the Day. Kid made bank for one day’s skating! After the comp we headed back to Petone, skated the mini for a bit and got a couple quick photos.

The guys from Auckland’s Amazon Boardstore put on the Wellington section of the Biggest Game of S.K.A.T.E. competition this past weekend. Relapse riders AJ, Dylan, Fox and Brynn all skated, and Welly veteran Chris Wood took out first place.

Cheers to the guys at Amazon Boardstore for putting on a sick event and afterparty.

It’s always a pleasant surprise when I find an issue of Manual Magazine in my letterbox, and today was no exception. The new issue is full of ripping images and articles, plus Brynn has not one but two impressive photos amongst the pages as well. (Our upcoming full-length shall contain the video evidence of said tricks).

With every issue this magazine just keeps getting heavier. Props to Dave and Jake.
